Ms Lakshini Weerasekera

Lakshini Weerasekera, a 1st year PhD student in the Centre for Diabetes Research lab, recently won the Human Genetics Society of Australasia poster prize at the Combined Biomedical Science Meeting held at UWA on the 26th of Aug. Lakshini presented some of her preliminary results from her PhD project. Her project involves looking at the novel Gene Mine mouse resource to find a suitable mouse model to further investigate retinopathy, a vision threatening diabetic complication.
